

Native to the tropical and subtropical regions of India and Burma, it has been introduced to other Asian countries, Africa, Australia, and the Americas. Known for its insecticidal extracts, which act naturally against insects by preventing them from reaching maturity. In industry, it is used in soaps as a substitute for coconut oil and as an organic fertilizer.
