Traditional Spanish variety with large, round, very fleshy fruits, known for its rich flavor and excellent quality for salads.
Muchamiel Tomato is a classic Mediterranean variety, valued for its large, rounded, slightly ribbed fruits with firm flesh and a sweet, well-balanced flavor. It develops medium-thick skin and a characteristic aroma, making it ideal for salads and fresh dishes.
Plants are vigorous and productive, performing best in warm, sunny climates. They need staking and enough space to grow properly. Fruits are harvested when they turn deep red, although they can also be eaten slightly green in traditional preparations.
How to sow Muchamiel Tomato seeds
Soak seeds in lukewarm water for 6–12 hours. Sow in seed trays at 0.5–1 cm deep, keeping the substrate moist but not waterlogged. Germination occurs at 20–25 °C, with seedlings emerging in 7–14 days. Transplant when plants have 2–3 true leaves, leaving 50–60 cm between plants. Provide full sun and regular watering to obtain large, flavorful fruits.
