Asclepias tuberosa 'Hello Yellow' is a charming variety with intense yellow flowers, derived from the well-known North American perennial species. This plant stands out not only for its spectacular blooms but also for its ability to attract wildlife and beautify any sunny space with its vibrant energy. Unlike the typical orange-flowered variety, 'Hello Yellow' produces dense clusters of golden-yellow flowers that bring a warm, luminous, and very special tone to the garden.

From its tuberous roots emerge upright stems that can reach up to 90–100 cm in height. At the end of each stem, inflorescences form, composed of numerous small star-shaped flowers that bloom throughout much of the summer. Its soft, sweet fragrance not only delights people but also proves irresistible to butterflies, bees, native pollinators, and even hummingbirds in regions where they are present.

Like other milkweeds, this variety is highly valued for its role in monarch butterfly conservation, providing nectar for adult butterflies, though it is not typically a preferred host for egg-laying. It is ideal for pollinator gardens, naturalized areas, meadows, rockeries, or sunny borders. Its maintenance is very simple: drought-tolerant, non-invasive, and highly adaptable to various types of well-drained soil.

Another significant advantage of 'Hello Yellow' is that it does not produce the milky sap common to many other milkweeds, making it a cleaner option for ornamental gardens. Its thick roots store water and nutrients, allowing it to withstand dry summers once established.
