Melon variety with oval fruits, bright yellow slightly furrowed skin, white flesh, small central cavity, and average weight of 2–2.5 kg.
The Canary Yellow Melon is a traditional variety appreciated for its oval fruits with bright yellow, slightly furrowed skin. The flesh is white with a small central cavity, making it juicy and flavorful. Fruits weigh on average 2–2.5 kg and have a firm, sweet texture, ideal for fresh consumption. It grows best in warm, sunny climates and requires fertile, well-drained soils for proper fruit development.
Sow seeds in a seed tray or small pots at 1–2 cm deep in a light, well-drained substrate. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Optimal germination temperatures are 20–28 °C. Seeds usually germinate in 7–12 days. Once seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, transplant them into the ground, spacing plants 50–70 cm apart and rows 1–1.2 m apart. Regular watering and full sun exposure are needed to produce sweet, juicy fruits.
