Organic Matador Spinach is a traditional, slow-growing variety, highly valued for the quality and firmness of its leaves.
It produces vigorous plants with broad, dark green leaves, rounded in shape with gently undulating edges. The leaves are thick and fleshy, with a slightly textured surface that gives them a rustic, natural appearance.
Thanks to its slower development, this organic spinach provides an extended harvest period, keeping the leaves tender for longer. It adapts well to spring and autumn growing conditions and shows good tolerance to warmer weather, delaying bolting compared to many other varieties. It stands out for its reliable productivity and uniform growth.
It is well suited for both fresh use and light cooking, retaining its structure and flavour after preparation.
Organic Matador Spinach seeds can be sown directly in the ground or in seed trays. Sow them at a depth of around 1 to 1.5 cm in a loose, fertile, well-drained growing medium. Keep the substrate evenly moist, avoiding waterlogging, as spinach prefers cool conditions.
Germination usually takes place within 8 to 14 days, with optimal temperatures between 10 and 18 °C. Once the seedlings have developed several true leaves, thin them out to leave a spacing of approximately 20-25 cm between plants. With regular watering and good light, plants will grow evenly and produce high-quality leaves.
