Centaurea cyanus ‘Rose Shade’ is an ornamental cornflower variety known for its delicate pink flowers held on slender, branching stems. It forms light, airy clumps that bring a natural, meadow-like look to gardens, borders, and wildflower areas.

It is valued for its long flowering period and its ability to attract bees and other beneficial insects. The plant adapts well to different soil types as long as drainage is good and performs best in full sun. It is also suitable for cut flowers, as the blooms retain their shape and color well.

How to sow Centaurea cyanus ‘Rose Shade’ seeds

Sow seeds directly in the ground or in trays in late winter or spring. Place them on loose substrate and cover lightly. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Germination usually occurs within 7-14 days. Once seedlings are well established, thin them out leaving around 20-30 cm between plants to allow proper growth and abundant flowering.
