The Sequoia sempervirens, commonly known as the coast redwood, is distinguished by its astonishing height, reaching up to 115 meters, making it the tallest conifer in the world. Its thick, fibrous bark, reddish-brown in color, acts as a natural protection against fire and pests. The leaves are evergreen, dark green in color, and arranged spirally around the branches, providing dense foliage. Additionally, the coast redwood has a remarkable regenerative capacity, able to sprout both from seeds and from shoots at its base, contributing to its longevity and resilience.

Cultivating the Sequoia sempervirens requires specific conditions to thrive. It prefers deep, well-drained, slightly acidic soils, as well as a humid climate with mild winters and cool summers, common characteristics in its natural habitat along the Pacific coast of North America.
