Evergreen tree (10-20 m) from eastern Australian rainforests. Glossy dark green pinnate leaves (6-12 in long). Clusters of red-orange flowers in spring, followed by large cylindrical pods with chestnut-like seeds. Widely planted as ornamental in subtropical areas.
