Fast-growing aromatic herb prized worldwide for the exceptional flavour and aroma of both its fresh leaves and dried seeds.

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) is one of the world's most popular culinary herbs, valued for its distinctive flavour and fragrance. Both the fresh leaves and the dried seeds are widely used in cuisines around the globe, making it an essential ingredient in countless traditional and modern recipes.

The fresh leaves add a vibrant flavour to salads, salsas, curries, soups and many Asian, Mediterranean and Latin American dishes. The dried seeds are a popular spice used to season meat, fish, vegetables, sausages and spice blends.

Botanical and ethnobotanical literature also mentions coriander for its traditional medicinal uses, in addition to its outstanding culinary and aromatic value.

How to sow the seeds

Sow directly outdoors or in containers from early spring until mid-summer, placing the seeds approximately 1 cm deep in fertile, light and well-drained soil.

For a continuous supply of fresh leaves, make successive sowings every 20 days from March to July. Grow in full sun or light shade in hot climates and keep the soil evenly moist. Germination usually occurs within 7-14 days.
