Annual flowers. They are planted in flower gardens and can also be cut for bouquets. The flowers are 6-8 cm in diameter. They grow well in light soils and are sensitive to frost. They require little watering, although with regular watering the flowers develop to a larger size.

Coreopsis tinctoria ‘Mix’ is an abundantly flowering annual plant, valued for its light, colourful blooms in shades of yellow, gold and red. Its daisy-like flowers may have yellow petals with a burgundy centre, reddish blooms or very decorative bicolour combinations. This mix is ideal for adding a natural, cheerful and meadow-like look to the garden.

With its airy, branching habit, it is well suited to flower beds, borders, wildflower meadows and natural-style gardens. It can also be grown as a cut flower, as its flowering stems look attractive in simple bouquets and informal arrangements. It grows best in light, well-drained soil and in a sunny position. Although it tolerates dry periods, regular watering helps produce larger flowers and a longer flowering display.

How to sow Coreopsis tinctoria ‘Mix’ seeds

Sow the seeds in spring, once the risk of frost has passed, either directly in their final growing position or in seed trays. Prepare a light, loose growing medium, scatter the seeds over the surface and cover them with a thin layer of soil. Keep the substrate slightly moist during germination, avoiding excess water.

Germination usually takes place within 1-2 weeks, depending on temperature. When the seedlings have several true leaves and are large enough to handle, thin or transplant them, leaving about 20-30 cm between plants. To encourage a longer flowering period, remove faded flowers regularly.
