Sweet snakeskin lily - Seeds
Amorphophallus galbra
Amorphophallus galbra, known as sweet snakeskin lily, is a tropical aroid with a very distinctive appearance. Its spathe and petioles are strongly mottled, a feature reflected in the common name and a key part of its ornamental appeal.
This species is especially interesting for collectors of Amorphophallus and other uncommon aroids. Its value is not limited to flowering, as the seasonal foliage and patterned petiole can also be highly attractive during active growth.
For sowing, use an airy, well-drained medium with some organic matter. Keep the seeds warm and stable, with moderate moisture but no persistent waterlogging. With this type of aroid, both extreme dryness and excessive wetness should be avoided.
During cultivation, pay attention to the plant’s growth rhythm. Many Amorphophallus species alternate between active growth and rest periods, so watering should be adjusted to the actual condition of the plant and medium. Protect it from cold and provide bright filtered light.
