Acacia spectabilis, Mudgee acacia, is a decorative species known for its extravagant bright yellow flowering. Its luminous appearance makes it attractive for suitable gardens and Australian plant collections.

Like many acacias, it combines fine foliage with showy flowers. In cultivation it appreciates good light, sharp drainage and careful watering, especially in containers.

How to sow Mudgee acacia seeds

Sow in a sandy or very well-drained medium and keep moderately moist during germination. Acacia seeds often benefit from appropriate hard-seed pretreatment, but only use methods you are confident applying safely. Keep the tray warm and bright.
