Round watermelon variety with dark green rind and sweet, juicy red flesh, compact and very productive.

Seed packet size

Sugar Baby Watermelon is a Citrullus lanatus variety known for its round fruits and smaller size compared to other watermelon varieties, making it ideal for small gardens. The rind is dark green, while the flesh is red, sweet, and juicy, with evenly distributed black seeds. Perfect for fresh consumption, fruit salads, or natural juices.

This variety is very productive and thrives in warm, sunny climates. It requires fertile, loose, well-drained soils. The plant grows compactly but still needs enough space to develop properly and produce high-quality fruits.

How to sow Sugar Baby Watermelon seeds

Soak seeds in lukewarm water for 12–24 hours before sowing. Sow in seed trays at 1–2 cm deep, keeping the substrate moist but not waterlogged. Optimal germination occurs between 20–30 °C, emerging in 7–14 days. Transplant to the ground when seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, leaving 80–100 cm between plants. Prefers full sun, regular watering, and fertile, well-drained soil.
