Sedum reflexum - Seeds
Sedum reflexum
Perennial succulent with fleshy foliage and a spreading habit, ideal for rock gardens, containers and low-maintenance landscapes.
Sedum reflexum is a hardy perennial succulent valued for its durability and ease of cultivation. It forms dense mats of narrow, fleshy blue-green leaves that remain attractive throughout the year. Its compact, spreading growth makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, borders, slopes and dry landscapes.
In summer, it produces clusters of bright yellow star-shaped flowers held above the foliage, creating a striking contrast. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant and thrives in poor, well-drained soils.
How to sow Sedum reflexum seeds
Sow the seeds on the surface of a light, very well-drained substrate, leaving them uncovered or covering them only with a thin layer of sand. Keep the substrate lightly moist but never waterlogged. Place the seed tray in a bright location with temperatures between 18 and 22 °C. Germination usually occurs within 2-4 weeks. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, carefully transplant them into individual pots or their final growing position.
