Kenda - Seeds
Macaranga peltata
Macaranga peltata, commonly known as kenda, is a tropical species valued for its large, striking foliage. The source information notes that its leaves can reach up to 50 cm and have many uses.
This species is well suited to collectors of tropical plants, botanical collections and ornamental plantings where bold foliage is the main attraction.
How to sow kenda seeds
Sow the seeds in a light, clean and well-drained growing medium, keeping it moist but not waterlogged. Place the seed tray in a warm, bright position, sheltered from harsh direct sun during the early stages.
Once the seedlings are established, transplant them carefully into individual containers. As a tropical species, kenda should be protected from cold conditions and grown with moderate ambient humidity.
