Cannellino Bean - Seeds
Phaseolus vulgaris 'Cannellino'
Early white bean variety producing smooth, creamy beans, ideal for soups, salads and a wide range of traditional dishes.
Cannellino Bean is an early variety of Phaseolus vulgaris grown mainly for its attractive white beans, prized for their creamy texture and delicate flavour. With a growing period of approximately 65 to 80 days, it provides reliable and productive harvests.
The mature beans are especially suitable for soups, stews, casseroles and salads, retaining an excellent texture after cooking. Young pods may also be harvested and eaten whole together with the immature seeds, making this a particularly versatile variety for the kitchen.
This variety performs best in fertile, well-cultivated, loose soils with good drainage and plenty of sunshine.
How to sow the seeds
Sow directly outdoors once all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Plant the seeds about 3-4 cm deep, spacing them approximately 10-15 cm apart with 40-50 cm between rows.
Grow in a sunny location with light to medium-textured, loose, well-tilled soil. Keep the soil evenly moist throughout the growing season while avoiding waterlogging or prolonged drought.
