Climbing plant with large, aromatic leaves, grown for its fragrant and edible fruits.

Seed packet size

Sicana odorifera, known as cassabanana, is a tropical climbing plant that produces large, elongated, and highly fragrant fruits. Its large green leaves can provide partial shade on trellises or pergolas. The fruits are eaten ripe, either raw or cooked, and are prized for their sweet aroma and delicate flavor.

It requires a warm climate, well-drained soil, and regular watering. It grows best in partial to full sun, and the vines need support to climb. Besides its culinary value, it is ornamental due to its foliage and striking fruits.
