Cucurbitacea of African origin, related to common cucumber, with green color with numerous non -dangerous spikes and pale green pulp . It has leaves similar to those of the watermelon and tendrils to climb. This species is also known as Chayotillo, Pepino del Monte, Pepino Silvestre, Pepinillo of the Western Indies, hedgehog chin , watermelon of the viper or cucumber cimarrón.
