Watermelon variety with round to oval fruits, green striped rind and sweet, crisp red flesh, very productive and large-sized.
Crimson Sweet Watermelon is a Citrullus lanatus variety prized for its sweet and refreshing flavor. Fruits are round to oval, with light and dark green striped rind, and red, sweet, crisp, juicy flesh with evenly distributed black seeds. Fruits can reach a weight of 6 to 9 kg, making this variety very productive and perfect for fresh consumption, fruit salads, or natural juices.
It requires a warm, sunny climate, fertile, loose, well-drained soils. The plant is sprawling and needs ample space to develop. Regular watering and full sun are recommended to produce sweet, juicy fruits.
How to sow Crimson Sweet Watermelon seeds
Soak seeds in lukewarm water for 12–24 hours before sowing. Sow in seed trays at 1–2 cm deep, keeping the substrate moist but not waterlogged. Optimal germination occurs between 20–30 °C, emerging in 7–14 days. Transplant to the ground when seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, leaving 100–150 cm between plants. Prefers full sun, regular watering, and fertile, well-drained soil.
