Succulent tree native to Madagascar (5-30 m tall). Features a massive water-storing trunk (up to 6 m diameter) with smooth gray bark. Deciduous palmate leaves and hanging yellow flowers. Produces oblong fruits with edible dry pulp. Excellent for dry tropical landscapes.
