Lemon-scented gum - Seeds
Corymbia citriodora
Corymbia citriodora, the lemon-scented gum, is an Australian tree valued for the powerful citrus fragrance of its leaves. Its elegant habit and aromatic foliage make it an appealing species for ornamental and botanical collections.
Under suitable conditions it can become a sizeable tree, so it is best grown with future space in mind or kept in a container while young. Good light, drainage and steady care help young plants establish well.
How to sow lemon-scented gum seeds
Sow the seeds on a fine, well-drained, lightly moist medium and cover only very lightly. Keep the tray warm and bright, avoiding waterlogged conditions. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them carefully into individual pots.
